<< This is GALSIC.TXT, where you can put tech notes about your Worldgroup >>

For example...

The Galacticomm Demo System http://www.gcomm.com runs Worldgroup server
software on a 90MHz Pentium with 16 megs of RAM and a 1 gigabyte hard disk.
Our Worldgroup server is connected to a Novell Netware 3.11 File Server
with all of its files located on the network server drive. Communications
hardware includes:

a Morning Star Express Router and Astrocom CSU/DSU linking us by a
          T1 connection to the Internet

Novell SPX LAN connections serving our in-house employees

20 v.34 modems (28,800 baud) serving our remote employees,
          customers, prospects and developers

a Motorola UTA220k Terminal Adapter providing two ISDN connections

an OST PCXNet Card and GDC Desktop 500A DSU providing DDS access to
          X.25 packet-switching networks

Users running Web browsing software can explore our primary Web site at
http://www.gcomm.com or download files from ftp://gcomm.com

By downloading the Worldgroup Plug-in, users with Windows PCs can run
Worldgroup Manager, a suite of client applications which can be launched
from Web pages to:

  - provide online catalogs from which users can order by credit card
  - take public opinion polls and questionnaires
  - provide sophisticated file library access (multiple downloads plus
multiple uploads occurring simultaneously in the background)
  - participate in teleconferences far more effectively than IRC
  - exchange mail with Internet users, Novell MHS users, and others
  - read and respond to exclusive discussion forums
  - participate in video teleconferencing (virtual classroom/boardroom)
  - plus a continuing stream of new client apps coming online daily

Users without Microsoft Windows can communicate with the Demo System in
terminal mode (ASCII text, or ANSI or RIP graphics) through the many
traditional Telnet/Rlogin programs currently on the Internet, through modem
programs such as Telix and Qmodem, through Novell NetWare connections via
SPXtalk, our own LAN terminal program, etc.

Tim Stryker and colleagues have written most of the software you are using
here: Worldgroup, FAX/Online, Dial-Out, Dial-Up, etc. The software is
written primarily in C. The foundation-level code is written in highly
optimized assembler while the Windows interface is written in Visual Basic.

You can download your own copy of the Worldgroup Plug-in and Worldgroup
Manager from the Demonstration System. It is freely distributable and
does not require any sort of registration.

Two-user Worldgroup Starter kits are available from Galacticomm Inc.,
4101 SW 47th Ave., Suite 101, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33314. These provide
a low-cost way for you to experiment with building your own online service
or using the Worldgroup Plug-in to add real depth to your existing Web site.
A Worldgroup server can be scaled up as your needs grow.
