Elwynor Modules - Goal to Open Source
Folks, in light of the project's decision to make The Major BBS future versions free, I'd like to do the same with the Elwynor modules and go one further - open source them for non-commercial use. It cost me far more to get these module catalogs than it did to get the Galacticomm rights all those ye...

Re: To those from South FL, where Galacticomm was KING! (Memories of an older man...)
Nate doesn't have any of the Shae stuff. There was an old Yahoo! group where one of the main users had a copy of it. I wish I'd gotten it from them, especially now that Yahoo! groups is dead.

Re: Mail Link vs World Link
No, Worldlink is a separate link system entirely. Maillink works on 3.x though, and Rob at Prostar has a HQ for it. Both are available and alive!

Re: New module: Credits!
Yup! And there's a bunch of the old poker games, lottery games, single and multiplayer games that use them too. This was a quick and easy module to help make those games work better!

New module: Credits!
Good morning! Elwynor Technologies is happy to announce another new module. Written from the ground up after a conversation with Duckula, Credits! is a useful utility for any SysOp wanting to bring back games and add-ons that require credits. Credits! allows the SysOp to grant users, if they have th...

Re: To those from South FL, where Galacticomm was KING! (Memories of an older man...)
South Florida was such a hot spot for great systems. I used up most of my PCPursuit credits (and to my parents' chagrin, long distance call charges) calling into Gcomm, Shae, High Society, and more. High Society is still online, albeit without most of the customizations and the user list gets purged...

Worldlink actually has plug-ins to allow module / game development :)
Re: Security
At this point, AES-256 would be the best.

Re: Globals
I need to put all the Globals packages I have up for download. I have a bunch - Wilderland, Annex, etc. I always intended to just coalesce them into one, but maybe I should just put them out as-is.
There's also the best one ever made - Dialsoft's Frequently Used Globals (a/k/a FU Globals)

Re: Early Major BBS Screenshot Gallery
To be fair, this was like 1986. He wasn't even sure what he had yet. The company was really building multi-modem hardware and the GSBL library for developers to use to build custom systems. It wasn't until soon after he realized the BBS software itself could be the pathway to commercial success.
