The one located inside the zip that questman posted, see here:

http://www.elwynor.com/worldgroup/GALICO1.ZIP

Apologies, the incorrect galico package appears to have been put into the zip file, i will correct that and post an update once this has been done.

OK I re-installed Major BBS again then ran the subst command you sent on my C:\NEWICO directory and could access it as the A: drive after that. That is pretty cool!! I thought only DOSbox could do something like that.

This time when I run install.bat during the install instead of saying Bad Command or File Not Found it brings up the installer for Piper/IP. This asks me questions about memory size, processor type, configuration files and then says a packet driver is detected and it will use it. Then it asks me to enter my network information and everything looks good but when I select the install option it says to insert distribution disk #1 in A: then says it cant find A:\disk.001 and just loops back through each of the messages until I reset the VM.

I searched the files you sent me in the zip but can't find disk.001 anywhere :( I also did some more looking in the zips and install.bat runs a file named GALSBBS. This file is GALSBBS.EXE and is installed from the GALICO.ZIP file in the first part of the installation. When I go to C:\BBSV6 and run GALSBBS it types WG and dos says Bad command or file name. Do you think this needs changed to run BBS (to start Major BBS) instead of WG and could it be part of the problem?

I kinda feel like we're getting closer but I'm not really sure where to go next. Is there a way to key Virecom Major BBS TCP to work with the Free one?

I'm using DOS 6.22 in virtual box it's the same setup I was running the other VM in without any problems. I don't know if it would work better or worse in 2K or 98 but I'm running virtual box in Linux and don't really want to install a microsoft OS just to use it. 2K and 98 are very old and have lots of security problems so be careful before you put them on the internet.

The package was tested before being put up for download, unfortunately at the last minute, the GALICO2 package was placed in there by error. We are not distributing VMs as this would breach copyright (for Windows etc) however we will post a step by step guide to installing the package on a machine shortly in the future. I will lock this thread until this can be done and re-open it once complete.

Even with the greatest of intentions, things don't always work as planned. Please keep an eye out for an update, apologies for any inconvenience caused.
