Who's running WG w/ PervasiveSQL (PSQL)

I am switching my setup across to PSQL after preliminary tests proved/felt like a step in the right direction. Hoping to see improved performance across the DATs.

Is anyone currently running their setup with PSQL and do you have any lessons learnt to share?

I am particularly interested to hear from anyone who may have tested the new MajorBBS v10 (MX) on top of a running system w/ PSQL.

I got lost looking on Actian's website for the legacy PSQL version 10 (now called ZEN v13 I believe?) - but here's a Wikipedia overview:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pervasive_PSQL

In a nutshell, it's allegedly an "upgrade" for Btrieve.

Keen to hear people's thoughts.

Sounds intriguing and should be faster as well. I have not used it in this way but look forward to seeing the results :)

we ran a setup under it in 2014 it was quite expensive back then.... with btrieve galacticomm paid them in their license deal with psql we have to pay.
havent looked in years, price may have come down. one of the great features was you could create DDF files from btrieve DAT files and actually
build the data structure for the file.

This has not been tested under v10 however it probably should be. If you do set it up, let us know and you could try v10 on it when it is released in beta form.

I cut across an instance yesterday.

Keeping the Rebuild tool options to defaults, the following DAT files should be removed from the process:
1. Prowler - CWD*.DAT
2. Elwynor - ELWBOWL.DAT, ELWCARDS.DAT, ELWTDICE.DAT
3. Runtime Computing - RCI*.DAT

The first 2 are essentially text files and not in the expected DAT format. This would extend to any other DAT files not in BTRIEVE format.

The Rose goes through the process but the board hangs on start-up while loading it. Doing further testing over next few days to see if it's 1 or more files.

those ELW files are Btrieve? run a butil -stat on them it could be possible they are not v6.15 and still v5.10
if so I can get rick to rebuild them.

Nah those ELW files are text files from those games. Those games are late 80s games ported up as-is. I should do more on them in the future, but I still have a backlog of modules.

There's also a version of Btrieve/Zen/Actian that runs on Linux and I think Mac. But the licensing has changed and they no longer have a redistribution license, so if we went that way for v10 we couldn't distribute the binary and the base API anymore. So dumb, because I'd love to kick in for that license so we could.
