I meant all the user data (accounts), calls, emails etc, thought they may be in a folder I could transfer over? But no idea if its possible.

They will be stored in a series of DAT files, so it depends on which particular records you are looking for?

you're still using worldgroup 2.0 right? some of the install.exe stuff in 2.0 will not overwrite certain things by default.
you can install clean and copy some things over but remember copying all *.DAT would be everything forums, file libs,
etc...

Is it possible to perform a clean install of MBBS10 without losing any data or settings, and if so, what are the recommended steps to ensure a smooth transition?

What are you trying to achieve? A clean install with existing settings isn't really a clean install.

I did this.

First and foremost: Copy your existing directory to a backup location - not zipped (your want quick access to files if needed)

Install a clean version of MBBSv10 and port/replace in all relevant pre-v10 core files only (just focus v10 files for now, not ISV modules):
- .DAT files (your data)
- .MSG files (be sure to use a tool like KDIFF3 to view and update the differences; or merge)
- .ANS files (your custom menus)
- WGSSTA*.BIN (your stats)
- Any custom Cleanup related files (.BATs, .PS1, etc)
- WGSAUDIT.ADT (your audit file)
* Dont merge in .MCVs or .MDFs from old system.

When the core system loads without incident, and you have verified your Mail, Forums, Stats, Users, Classes, Menus, etc, work on importing your modules (I recommend 1 by 1).
- Test startup, shutdown, and a cleanup after each module. This will weed out old modules that don't work as well under v10.

This will give you the cleanest migration with a fresh base v10 install with only the necessary files required to have your system look and feel as it did before and without all the left over CS related files and folders as well as any bloat accumulated over the years.

Caveats:
It is not the intended migration route.
It is time consuming.
It feels cleaner.
I am extremely OCD.

my 3.12 custom core utilizes an ini file to know where things are located and is referenced in each call... all files are kept in their own directory. people always ask why my bbs is still using version 3.12 and it is because
of the years of custom modifications like this.
