Decisions, decisions....

Post by Abraxis »

Greetings all,

Tried to get an answer to this in TCPLIB topic but got lost in the conversations.

I want to get my server to be able to present multiple websites. I own a lot of web software and need a bit of help to choose what to run together to get there.

I own:

Murk works Worldsock
Webblaster Nt?
Gcomms ICO “of course”
Vircom AMIS, DMS client, Radius, and TCPWEB2
Weblines

The way I see it so far is to run the Gcomm ICO stuff, which I think includes SMTP, NNTP, Telnet in and out, DMS, and Finger, but not the web server. Then run the Vircom stuff (AMIS, DMS, and TCPWEB2). Still finding my way around this monster, but finally am getting somewhere.

tcpweb2 only works on pre v3 wg. the dma client is the only wg3 Addon in that family.
For active html you'll need the gcomm web server active but if its not an issue you can disable it.

I was able to get a response from the Vircom Web server, might have been AMIS responding, on port 8080 which it was set to. Still experimenting, but wondering now if Active H is only available on the ICO server. Not sure I should bother with it, as I don’t think it’s used much anymore.
