You can copy it, but it won't work. It requires GALME, which wasn't introduced until WG2.

Are you sure? I'm copying Major BBS TCP from a working BBSV6 directory in this other VM and it works there? I just want to move it over to the Free Edition for telnet access.

@Bloodrock: Please read previous posts re: ICO2. Can you remove those two GPs? It makes the thread hard to read.

@Alan: Actually, I'm not sure where the Piper installer is going wrong. It MAY be looking for a particular disk drive (e.g., A:), because PIPER is there.

Look at the DOSAPPS folder which has DOSAPPS.ZIP and DRIVERS.ZIP.

You may have to unzip the GALICO1.ZIP I gave you to a folder... say C:\TEMP\GALICO... and then "subst" it to A: if you don't actually have a disk drive (for example SUBST A: C:\TEMP\GALICO )

But the stuff is in there.

I was replying to Bloodrock who came late to the discussion but didn't read the discussion about ICO v2 requiring GALME.

As for Major TCP/IP from Vircom, no, you cannot just copy it because it is keyed to the registration number of your other BBS, and won't function with the free version's registration number. ICO v1 WILL work, however.

OK, I will try that and report back. Any chance you could just put the Major BBS v6.25 Free Edition in a VM that would already have this part sorted out? I don't mind work but this ICO part is tough!
