Sorry for the long silence.

I solved my problem, but im not 100% certain of the cause. I suspect resources.

I was running the board at full 255 lines, Long story short, i found that if i run at about 245 or so, it runs perfectly. I have since lowered to the 200 range, since i really dont get ...

tried a few commands that should have arguments, like attack, and they all worked correctly.

no crashes.

When did the board go down and when did it come back online? What could have changed between then and now? What are the time periods in each case?

Just odd that this is happening of a sudden. How often is this happening?

Looking closer at this, before i had TA1 running, i was getting access violations on elwta2-m.mcv So the issue does appear to be with the TA engine!

Ever since i brought my board back online, i'm having lots of issues with system crashes.

Basically, the board will just fault, and after 30 seconds restart.

The log simply reports an access violation in c:\wgserv\wgserver.exe.

The errors i'm getting looks like this:

I'm having a really odd problem with Worldgroup 3.3. If I assign a user class to someone that has certain keys in it, the BBS ignores the keys. :? Even if I give those keys to the user specifically, it still ignores them. The only thing that gives access to a user is a MASTER key, and of course ...

Yes. This is not the v5.6c code that is available on the Internet nor the 5.6d source that was the basis for the popular 5.6d "gold" edition that people know of. It's a later iteration of the same code. Tele-Arena II exclusively used this code base, but the BBS world died before TA1 world was ...

I think there's wiggle room in copyright law for things like that.

This may seem like a dumb question, but i'm attempting to setup rlogin on my board, wg2, and having some problems.

I'd like to allow rlogin connection inbound, I'm using vircom major tcp/ip, telnet's working just fine, i have the option "Should we accept rlogin calls too?" set to yes, and port 513 ...

A lot of my players, when i was building additions to the world, asked for a blue rune area closer to town. I created my Mystic Tower map. It was well received, but was also slightly abused by dragging mobs through the blue rune barrier that i'd put up blocking its entrance.

it now only executes on disconnect, not player exit. now instead of the monsters getting a free attack you lose 1% of experience per hostile monster in the room.

If you've been editing msg's (like we talked about in pm's) it could be that a line has been deleted, or something mis-entered.

Its very easy to do that when editing msg's directly, you need to be careful.

Its difficult to say where the error could be. Have a look at everything you edited. If ...

I'll see what i can do about ms access. But it'd be very nice if you could just talk to the native db.

It looks like i can export mysql to a lot of formats. Excel, xml, csv. Any of these look like something you could use?

If you absolutely need ms access, i can probably do that. I'll have to dump each table of my db to its own csv, and then import those to MS Access.

Man.. i dont know about that math.. I know it works in the game and all, but i just cant get my math to match your numbers. Everything's off by just a little. For example, i'm testing with hunter.

This conversion was easy, whipped up a script that took the promo list you posted, and output the desired header, and then moved the values around to fit it.
