Welp,

Ragtop is right, Netvillage's worldlink is working again. For how long who knows, but I guess everyone can log into that for now until Rick resurfaces.

My BBS hasnt connected to it in a week even when I try to manually do it.

Solved! - Kind of.

The IIS wasnt installed, something must have happened when I installed a net framework and it got disabled in the add/remove components section. How strange. Well I learned something here. I was able to still get the telnet to keep operating though, it was the web service and such that was not ...

I reset my computer tonight and started worldgroup and i got this error.

Mutants

This is a MUTANTS issue that i thought i installed a FIX for.
Anyone else have this issue?
Someone goes to cast a spell in the game that requires and object and this error will happen and the system will reboot.

A guy over a year ago gave me a fix for this issue i thought, but it didnt seem to work ...

Couple times in the past few days this Worldgroup error log has popped up with this error and the server restarts. Any idea why?

Any update on this?
I will be willing to test a port of the game if someone wants.
Mostly my BBS is being used to test stuff out anyway as more people call my Synchronet BBS. So the WG has been more of a hobby these days. But I'd love to get my hands on the GE for WG 3

Welp, I tanked my majorbbs idea, its just not working.

Welp with Questman's help i was able to get some stuff together for the new WorldGroup. Much thanks to him.

Its a work in progress and remember its a ANNEX to my main Synchronet system. Im actually running them together.

Just wondering i havent seen anything around, i am assuming most people who still own these are running them. I saw one on ebay a long time ago but that was the DOS version.

packet driver

Welp,
I think its the packet driver, after putting everything on hold for awhile im back at it, and it just doesnt connect, ive even remoted into my computer and work and tried to telnet in and it doesnt work.

I guess now im screwed on this but i dont care much id love to get the major bbs to work ...

Welp, i checked the card and it gave me the following:

IP 192.168.0.1
255.255.255.0 mask

gateway 192.168.0.1

DNS 192.168.0.1

only one DNS was listed.

so i put in 0.0.0.0 into the secondary field.

its still not working.
Ive tried the other IP address that showed me online when i checked online ...

disable the IPX driver and then install it...some times it wont install with IPX installed.

i have a NWLink IPX/SPX driver but thats been disabled the whole time.

SWSVPKT does not show up in my list of drivers after install.
Ive tried this one before, cuz i read it would work. but it doesnt show up in there, which is why i used the other one. I dont know why it doesnt show.

well i spoke too soon.

its not working agian.

it worked twice.

i think its the packet driver thats messing it up.... i dont get it. i may need to install a different version of this ndis packet driver, but i was able to get in, but after each time i couldnt get in again.... very weird and i didnt ...

FIXED! Well, kinda

Wow! it was the packet driver. somehow the packet driver was looking in the wrong place.

For some odd reason, thus far, i can login to it, not of course the real test will be if it can be done remotely, which of course i will test after i sleep for a year.

But i think it is ok ...

hmmm then you should be able to set the mbbs IP to 192.168.0.100 or the real IP and it work ...you had said before that the mbbs was set to 192.168.0.1 change that to 192.168.0.100 and it should work.

Tried the real IP and nothing i will try it again but i really messed with it hard core today ...

Ok your router should be IP 192.168.0.1 and you would used that for the Gateway and DNS on the PC, the PC's IP should be set to obtain one automatically. you PC IP would not be 192.168.0.1 that is the router.

yeah, try it without the router.
also, does your router and modem have NAT?
are all the ports open and redirected for the bbs?
what about your OS firewall?
I had to open and redirect ports on my modem and router and OS firewall.

I have only 1 computer connected to the router, where as i have a laptop (not bbs related) doing a wireless connection to it,
so yes the BBS computer (which is this one i am now) is connected to the router.

So if u are saying that the bbs computer is not direct.
Should i get rid of the router all ...

One thing i did notice is that the router gave different info for the DNS as what the ethernet card info gave.... not sure that matters.
