Rlogin Client Update

Post by dspain »

Released a new build of the rlogin client update for WGNT.
This build resolves an issue where sometimes it would still
display the masked module when typing /# even though the
user was no longer in an Rlogin session.

this file is available as LGNUPD.ZIP from the ISVARC file library.

Just one question. The module name shows up perfectly with the /# command. However, using FU globals, it is still showing Rlogin Module. Is FU is pulling the location from somewhere else? I can't find any options in the FU config to change this. If not, no big deal. I will just set it up to use the /# instead of the built in userlists.

Other than that, works like a charm! Thanks Dan :D

yes it uses a replacement /# routine what i can do is set it up to use a text variable and you may be able to modify where FU displays this.

Global Control 3.21 will also support this.

Have you had a chance to take a look at the # /# display module name problem with some global packages?

problem with those is they use their own routine

im gonna replace a program called ARCWHO which is a drop in replacement of the standard /# and will work.

also gonna add some new text variables to it as well.

LGNUPD.zip anyone?

Post by Kracken »

Hi guys,

Anyone has the LGNUPD.ZIP rlogin replacement ? SwampBBS is down and AFAIK, it was the only place where the module would be available.

With MajorTCP rlogin, I managed to do seamless integration of synchronet doors inside MBBS6.25. Users would enter/exit doors directly, w/o going thru any menu whatsoever. Also /# would show them as inside the door. (only drawback: /p to in-door user does not work, but well..

Unfortunately this does not work in WG3, but Iwould like to to test the lgnupd.zip to see if it allows passing of the "xtrn" parameter that synchro's xtrn_sec.js supports for direct launch.

Thanks !

and supports module masking so you can have rlogin report back you are in a specific moudle when doing /# so if its an rlogin to a door called "Lord 2" typing /# would show the user being in "Lord 2"
we had it working with message sending to but the drawback was you could receive but not send back, but im working on passthroughs for that too
