IC not working correctly

i just got an email from one of my IC players:

I hate to say this, since I just became the high scorer, and don't
necessarily want to game to be reset, but...

The game is broken, at least in some limited sense. "Bombs" do not work
anymore - once you "arm" them, they turn into baseball bats, instead of
exploding.

Always? I vaguely remember that sometimes happened, and I think it's meant to. But only sometimes. I think they can also backfire.

Thanks. Part of the game is its funny behavior, and I know that sometimes guns backfire, things vanish, Master Control pulls something, etc..
