After emailing another sysop back and forth the last week or so, we've been talking about various aspects of major bbs, worldgroup, dma servers, majormud, and just general stuff.
Well, after going back and reading the manual on the DMA server, it states that you pass through page names, not specific modules. For example, if you want to go to Galactic Empire, you may have a page called GE, and the module may be called Galactic Empire. So, the DMA server uses the page name.
The page name can be tied to a menu or a module, or even pass on information through telnet or rlogin. If some one had synchronet setup to automatically signup and login through rlogin, and it was tied to a page called doorsrv or some thing like that, and the DMA server passed on information to go to that specific page, would he/she be able to join that DOS Door Game server?
I understand that, if this would work, it would send the individual to a game menu, as opposed to sending that person straight in to a door game. Would it work? Any one ever tried it?

as far as doing it with menus, thats interesting never thought about that, ill have to check it out see how it goes, ill let you know.
No you can not access a menu on the dma server only a module/file page and only in ANSI text mode. No WG client.Malakai wrote:Joe, you've got a DMA server. Have you tried anything like this before?
But if you have a module page that connected out from the dma server through rlogin/telnet that would work.
The vircom DMA protocol works on a frame work of the rlogin protocol. If we made a dma client by hacking the Galacticomm rlogin client we sould be able to offer any bbs to connect to a DMA server.
