Location of library files

Post by hiwayman »

I have the Worldgroup up and running as a vmware appliance, and would like to have WG access library files on a shared network drive. I get an invalid path error. IIs this possible, or does worldgroup limit access to within the WG installation directory.

Thanks

Hal

Are you referring to "file library" files for download? or WG .DAT or datafiles?

I figured it out. I found the cnf option under FTP server to list accessible drives.

i did the same thing and just set my file library to Z:\FTP\GCOMM
with no problems.

will it not allow any drives other than root?

When you create each library you also have the option of specifying a different drive and/or path other than in the root directory. I have all my files on various network server storage drives, which are mapped by the WG server.

same here, easier to move/manipulate em, or if ya wanna do some server changes keeps em from accidentally getting corrupted :)

Or in my case, when I first lost WG to a hard drive failure, and had everything nice and tidy in WG's directory...it was all gone. Re-creating from backups was a pain. Easier now to just relink to existing directories on other drives.
