Talon - the Major BBS / WG parts are most definitely not open source. There is an open source version of Galactic Empire for the DOS-based BBSes, however.

I was looking to use it on my old MajorBBS v6.25 system but its all good

I have a good set of disk here some where in the 100's of BBS disks I have yet to go through
And I picked up 3 more systems last week 1 - MajorBBS v6.25, 1 - Worldgroup v2 dos and a Worldgroup 3.0 NT and all three came with a ton of software/code and I need to go through all of that still and see what is all there
Thanks dspain for asking and all the help you and questman give us all, you guys are great!

I am playing around with a linux port of GE free from MBBS. In the early stages so far but need to get the source to BBSMSX or BBSIDX that regenerates the message.h files from the message.msg files. I can recode it but didn't want to if someone has the source already.

I know it's only been like 6 months, but is there any progress on this? It certainly isn't going to take the place of a real job and I understand that, but I'd love to get my hands on this when it becomes available.

ive done a ton of work on getting it ported, i did 2 or 3 builds myself using your original code (3.2 i think) ran into some errors fixed em and had some minor issues, nothing major but i want it to have no issues when its done.
