Welp, it's been a long time I think I sold my orginal majorbbs back
in 1991, I started around 1989 with it back w Quest for Magic. I ran the first Majorbbs in Denver, Colorado when it ran off a IBM 8088 XT (lol), I remember upgrading to a 286 (gz), in any case back then you had to compile and link the modules and also had to own a copy of Borand Turbo C. Ah them where the days,... In any case, I later sold my orginal copy of Major BBS then switched over to Renegade, (I think, or was I playing with Telegard/Pcboard for a little while, ah beats me). In any case I ran a Renegade for many years then purchased a copy of Majorbbs again later. Never put it up though, bought a bunch of modules for it like Legend of the Red Dragon (so forth). Come to mind I haven't seen that module around either, not the Majorbbs one. In any case, eventually I ended up with the domains bbsing.com, .net and .org tossed up a Synchronet then came across this site bringing back memorys of way back, so anyways here I am in 2006 about 17 years later once again thinking/will run a Galacticomm system. So kudos to site and ah what the heck, if nothing else it will be memory from way back.

Hehe, yup have that domain... (lol) stir all kinds of stuff up (lol)... Gets lots of hits though, hehe... In any case I noticed from your profile that your a avonics tech? I'm and A&P and FCC (lol)... Switched though several years back away from that to many lay off's for me... Still work for a airline though, but do computers and such...

That's half the reason I killed that first majorbbs way back when I went to
Colorado Aero Tech, was to dang expensive I had like a several thousand into that bbs thing. Every darn game was like $500 tacos.

welcome aboard :)

i run arcticzone internet solutions, the arcticzone bbs, tele-arena bbs, and also have a synchronet one myself.
im from the days when we had to pay alot for bbs's like you :)

my first was a majorbbs v5 system the $249 for 2 users and $249 for every 6 therefore after, hell just to play kyrandia,faz,etc.. that was like another 249, lol

yeah it was expensive. hell even synchronet was like $99 for 2user and yada yada

anyhow im just an isv developer nowadays and i also write synchronet mods in js

so welcome back, get with rick and get setup with a gcomm system or i can help ya.
between rick finding all the old isv catalogs and me re-writing all the older modules its pretty affordable now, most you see is free except some heavy duty stuff and even thats cheaper than back in da day.

Shit, rememeber you'd buy that sucker and if you wanted the file librarys or the entertainment addition it was a extra $249 a piece??? Man that was insane back then, I loved the hell out of the flash games and ge though was a good time was just to damn expensive for me back then although it was a blast, had a good time with it.

I did some time at SunCountry working on DC-10-15's, 727-200's and 737-800's until they went bankrupt then I jumped ship and went to Nwa,
and work in computers now... Had a blast as SunCountry was a really good company they are under new ownership now though, in any case.
I suppose this is a little off topic for this site (lol)... I'm at Nwa now though
in computers...
