ok i finshed setting up a virgin development kit for worldgroup 2.0
it fully compiles and i added the gcomm dos entertainment games and source codes.
whats included:
worldgroup v2.00
kyrandia,fazuul,androids,super lotto,super nova,quest for magic
the kit is all ready to go just unzip it to c:\ and read install.txt
type makeall and it builds it all.
i had several people wanting to be able to mod there old 2.0 systems so i put this together.
i also have the C/S module development kit ready, and am awaiting some c/s modules from rick to test it out.
the worldgroup 2.00 kit compiles under borland c++ 4.2, run286 v3.1, btrieve 5.10a
anyone interested let me know.
i also have the wg 1.01 kit too if anyone wants to go back pre-internet ready
I would love to get it!

so you got the source and need the dev stuff?
basically wg2dev.zip has the following:
borland c++
pharlap
btrieve
and the kit
within the kit is not only the wg 2.00 source but over 15 add-on modules that could be used as a frame to making your own.
everything is in wg2dev.doc

send me your act code and ill add it to the galgsbl.dll and email it to anywhere ya want
i dont have a web or ftp ready yet cause im still in the process of setting up my network after the move.
tell ya what rick vouches for ya so ill just send ya one.
send me the following info in an email:
bbs name, contact info, reg#
thats for my listserver, im gonna add you to the wg2dev listserver
im always making better additions to the wg2 code. im gonna talk to rick about getting some of the gcomm lib sources so i can make it even better.
i like to know who all is out there and whats where so i can rebuild the wgdos community.
alot of people give me shit about it but ill tell ya what wg 2.0 for dos gives me the same features that wg 3.2, 3.3, and 4.0 does with over half the memory usage.
i wanna work a deal with rick so i can carry his dos line and once my domains are setup im gonna have worldgroupdos.com pointing to alot of good utilities for sysops.
ricks been so busy hard to catch him with a day off to chat, lol

Supporting the DOS systems is still important, but considering that the Win32 flavors are essentially the same animals with some extra features, the better motive would be to acquire all of the add-ons and port them up. Those ISVs that refuse to sell or can't, then write clones of those add-ons for Win32. It's much more convenient to run on a modern system.

Tell me about it. I just started a new position within my company so I'm swamped.

agreed, only thing i have had trouble with cloning is anything graphical like swords and sorcery, etc...
other stuff like text games and all hasnt been a problem.
you have a master list of whats refused to be sold?
only thing i really have tinkered with is xroads which runs under 3.3 on arcticzone.dyndns.org

yeah i know the feeling, but i have all the wg sources you had completely compile ready now.
dev101.zip and dev200.zip are all standard servers with source and completely setup to compile with 0 errors.
i just did it with 6.25 to of the majorbbs.
all using the standard act code of 97epewcyf
i figured all the crackers from the 90's all used that code so what the hell.
im putting up a wgdev respository today to help people wanting to become isv's a place to get codes for reference, etc...
im also gonna be sending them to bbs.elwynore.com so you can put em on your site.
