What the proper way to set this up, added files to bbs <dir> and when I drop out to dos I get a btrieve not running error when trying to initialize elwwowu.exe

type btrieve /p:2048 then do it.
i got it on my wg 2.0 server but havent played with it fully.
had a similiar problem on my wgnt bbs, lemme know how this goes.

ok error code #2.
from what im gathering its only a couple possbilities out of 5 possible.
check to see the version of the BT file. run butil -stat <filename> on it.
you can download that from arczone.org in the file library btrieve.
make sure its a v5 file.
also run a reindex and make sure its not damaged.
the other possibilities i doubt would apply.

i just verified, the war of the worlds dos release has btrieve 6.00 data files.
btrieve 5.xx cannot open those files.
that is whats causing your error #2.
contact rick see if he has the BCR files he can compile to dos, if not let me know ill take the v6 ones and create new bt 5.10 ones using the stat command.

I uploaded a new ELWWOWD.ZIP archive with new VIR files to Elwynor BBS and High Society BBS.
Grab it, and replace your VIR files with those for Worldgroup 2 DOS, and you should be okay to run ELWWOWU.exe and the module.

Just got to trying this, the elwwowu.exe still wont run, when the board boots this is the error:
BTRIEVE open error 2 on file elwwoc.dat
U#0025,MSG:elwwow.mcv/7
Looking at the .vir files I noticed the one elwwowc.vir is still dated 01/04/06..not sure if thats the problem.

Hi Rick, still unable to run the elwwowu.exe and same error message (error 2) as before, I tried the last .zip on a test server and was still unable to run that u.exe file, when the board booted I got
open error 12 of file "elwwowu0.dat"
U#FFFF.MSG:elwwow.mcv/7

Error 2? are you 100% sure you used the v2.0b zip (check file_id.diz) - that one should have the elwwowc.vir (and dat) that are v5.10 btrieve files.
Which file is giving the error 2... you can't boot the board with WOW w/o running that utility, because it needs to initialize the 3 game dats.

Well just gave it another shoot, and used the v2.0b files, while trying to run the elwwowu.exe this is the message (thier is a very brief box with the offline utility come up, then the error box)
BTRIEVE insert error 22 on file "elwwowc.dat,msg:elwwow.mcv /-1
Did notice the btrieve record manager is ver 5.00c ?
