some have asked to i will clarify the difference between Global Actions Lite which comes bundled with Global Control, and Global Actions 2.xx
Global Control lite allows 2 users to send actions back and forth, and the sysop to edit actions.
Global Control (full version) supports targetable and non targetable actions, generic actions, and custom messages.
example:
.hug sysop shows:
to you: Awww, how sweet!
to target: User hugs you close!
to everyone else on system: User hugs sysop close!
.ga is about to level up! shows:
Sysop is about to level up to everyone on the system
.msg this is my message! shows:
This is my message! to everyone on the system.
all of it can be keyed to specific requirements.
it also supports system tags, toggling reception, and the ability
to ignore actions from a specific user.
to run this alongside Global Control, you disable global actions from within ARCGLO-C.MSG as to prevent conflicts and you're all set.
will i ever add alot of these abilities to global control in the future? probably not, i needed something to make them seperate, i considered bundling all of them together with the new global mail addon and changing price to $99 but alot of people wont pay that much in one shot anymore but will buy smaller cheaper modules in moderation.
to see each of the global addons i have running telnet to arczone.dyndns.org and check em out.
