I'm very eager in getting my system configured and deployed and be part of this exciting community. However, I'm not looking forward to starting from scratch. Man if anyone knew the work I put in modifying my 2.00 WG System, it took months. Oh well, gonna have to saddle up and dive right in, lol.

So, I'm going to be building from a virgin WG v3.30. Any tips and tricks anyone cares to share? Been a good minute since I last played with this stuff.

Edit your text blocks, logins menus etc (I'm at 6263 of "options loaded")
If you are useing WG3xx the text block editor may drop the last character sometimes after an ansi edit so be carefull and be sure to back up your work each heading/file (*.msg) you finish.

Keep the basic search bots, spyders and others from crashing you. Setup a robots.txt and sitemap put them in the webpages directory. Some will crash wg when they are not present. Get the best router you can afford.

:!: As you go thru the various configurations anywhere it ask's for a file name of record or list it wants to right to disk ie "IPBAN.TXT" BE SURE the file is in /wgserv If thier isn't create a new .txt file. This will save you some hair loss down the road.

Use the search feature on this fine forum, almost any problem you should be able to find some help, or ask someone will answer.
