I figured after all the moaning we've down in the last year about worldlink, this would be a good time to say Thank you to Rick for getting it back up and running. Is there a spot I can redownload the new files that are needed to make the Teleconference linkup work when you go in so youre in the right channel?

Thanks!

Thank you for the kind words. My whole goal is to keep the community able to work with this great software and make sure that it doesn't die or become unusable.

You can get the patched DLL here:

i currently use a customized galtlcw.dll that i ripped down myself to add some flavor to teleconference such as trivia channels and such, would it be easy to plug into this new api directly or is that dll required?

Can Worldlink be configured to run through the Farwest Trivia telecconference rather than Worldlink teleconference? It would be pretty cool to have linked trivia games running if it's possible.

No. Worldlink is fairly complicated; it's an extension of the stock teleconference. It'd take significant modification to make it run in another teleconference.

That's what I thought. Was just hoping it could be a simple modification to have it go through another module instead of teleconference. Maybe trivia or some other game could be added to the worldlink dll.

We need to come up with something that will draw people into the tele rather than just hoping they see someone else in it and go in. While I'm really happy to see it back online, I don't think it will ever grow unless we can find a way to entice users into it.

yeah cool the end result was planned to allow trivia usage through worldlink i got the channel stuff done buit then beganb to get all fancy
each user had their own custom 200 action max actions list for their private channels, list went on, i will look for the original modded telecon where it was simple 2 trivia channels, "/j trivia" and "/j tournament" tournament trivia had to be initiated by the sysop (or keyholders) once you type /j tournament you were queued and when it started you were tele0ported in, the default trivia channel just acted like farwest it spit out questions from a database you answered for points, i'll see what i can dig up
