the arcticzone bbs

Post by dspain »

i have decided to relaunch the arcticzone bbs-nt

the following games are registered and available for play:

all the elwynor catalog
electronic fairways
tti-blackjack
tt--video poker
sf-the casino
sf-blademaster
the rose COG
mutants
swords of chaos
t-lord
tti-backgammon
tti-checkers
tti-chess II
tti-othello
sf-yahtzee

plus some more, cant remember what, what it boils down to is i got alot all but majormud. its over priced and my new mud will knock their socks off anyhow.

all my modules can be beta tested as well here

i got alot of cosmetic surgery to do on the bbs but its terminal and CS are online at arcticzone.dyndns.org

i also have a door server with over 53 registered doors

note:
not all things on there i can give out due to licensing agreements but if you see something you want get with me ill check with my source where i got it and get back to you

i add new games all the time as well as one of the largest wg file areas on the net

another note:
any WG server/CS source you need developers access level 1
to get this access you must be in the galacticomm LLC sysop database with an active reg#

im adding new files constantly fronm the other 3 pcs so if you dont see it believe me it will be there

its arcticzone.dyndns.org, arcticzoneonline.com, or arcticdev.net

use the dyndns one for the terminal bbs though.

its up and down constantly as i work on arcticmud i have 3 bbs pc's here at the house

bbsv6,wg2, wg 3.2

i dont run 2 of each so when i develop a module for one of the platforms i use it to test on.

my dev pc is no more good so until i buy a new MB i gotta use the mainline bbs as my test center.

Mud

Post by Junior1544 »

What ever happened to that mud you posted about?

I'd be interested in obtaining a good mud for my (newly being built) board...

Thanks

still in development, that one started on wg 2.0 only b/c i think when doing a project that complex with constant changing to the database i needed the spare feature in the structures.
alot of devs were upset about losing that ability.
basically it allows me to constantly add to the data structures as long as i dont exceed my spare size and since im constantly changing things as the need arises was easier to do it in wg 2.0 and convert later on that having to do conversions after every change.

so to answer your question its going good, was on my wg 2.0 test bed this mornign and took a few notes on some things i wanna change.

that has no story or way to go its only a mud engine sysops will be responsible for all the data input, as far as story lines sysops who purchase the developer license they can create their own content and pack their data files to be used by a certain reg#.

so say you create a mud al lthe mobs, items, spells, and hook it to a story you could then sell it to another sysop for use on their system or give it to them, you having the developers license them having the game and database client addon.

this i could let you beta b/c there is no 3rd party licensing involved.
however it will be written for wg2 til its done then ported to NT.

the only NT mud i have is Tele-Arena for right now i have a few irons in the fires on some other games including one thats like a
MUD / TW2002 / STRATEGY game combined.

when landed on planets you walk around interacting and fighting like a mud, when you take off in space you move around like TW landing on ports and planets trading/selling etc, also can fight encounters up there as well as PVP, and when you conquor a planet or find an unsettled one you colonize it and do the strategy portion sort of like an age of empires deal where you farm,mine,etc.. and get bigger and bigger.

dont look for this too soon WGME and TA will be completed first, then i will begin this one, im gonna need some permissions from a few companies to clone the look and feel of their product, IE: Tradewars
