i updated the GALSMTP addon to now support authentication to your isp smtp server to send emails.

i tested this using comcast and did it as follows:

not stuck with the stock world too lazy to make a new one, i actually put together a story, created on paper a brand new world, new races, new classes, etc.... and was gonna collaberate with Rick to release Tele-Arena III: The Aftermath in which a cataclysmic event wiped out the old world storms ...

I see a lot of open source software that is no longer being developed or even worked on. Open source isn't always the answer.

Besides, open sourcing WG, if that happened, doesn't solve the problem ISV modules that are no longer being updated, such as MajorMUD.

There are workarounds. I do believe the 256 users is program limited, it might be because of the old 16 bit system support. I am not sure. Questman or someone else might be able to answer that question.

I'm not sure where the fix should be, the GSBL or the actual BBS code. Moving to 32bit NT did ...

I'm certain 99% of majormud players use scripts... http://ods.ods.net/megamud.html is basically what most are using... I tweaked the install package to be configured to telnet immediately and added my bbs so all they have to do is click connect... before it was setup by default to use dialup ...

Well all this still requires running multiple worldgroups... worldgroup has a 256 user limit, so all the modules have a 256 user limit... I just don't want to run multiple systems, one is time consuming enough with this many users, I don't want to double the work with a second... plus none of the ...

Do you have the ability to run a second system yourself? I'm not sure how the licensing for MajorMUD works in that respect.

I agree, it's not worth it to invest any effort into tinkering with old CD-BBS imports into MajorBBS...
That's why I wanted something that automate the process..

Of course, even the whole point of using file libs today is arguable... I don't think much people still use syncterm ...
