some thing strange happening with wilderlands ii

Well, this is really strange. One of the visitors on my board logged on to the bbs earlier tonight and pretty much somehow had all of the exact character information as my character. He had the same level, same items, same position on the map, and he hadn't even completed the class quest. I made him use the "commit suicide" command, but this is just very strange. Have there been any other reports of this? If so, how often does it occur? This can be bad, if it starts destroying a lot of people's character information.

Hmmmm... that is not good, sounds like a btrieve issue (like everything!)

Let me know if you or Joe can reproduce it reliably, so I can fix it.

Sure... Worldgroup v3.30nt, windows xp, amd duron 950. 1gb ram pc-133 ram.

It's hard to know when it happened or what caused it, but I'll tell you basically every thing I can remember.. Basically, I first started my character and exitted out of the game when it asked which city I was from. So, my character says "elf magicians of ".". Next, I went to the guild teleport location and joined the the magicians guild. I played for about two days, fighting stuff around the mansion eastish of alcabeth, as well as done the guild quest and the gold potion quest. I got to level 8 in those two days.

I wanted to check out more of the game, the spells, and other stuff, to review the game for the bbs visitors. So, I made a weapon and armor, and a monster to xp fast with. I fought two or so rooms south of the alcabeth start room, until getting around level 40.

Later on, some one joins the game, and he's got the exact same level, xp, gold, items, same area I was in and all.

I don't know if it was one of the quest events or the power leveling or making items or some thing else that made it happen, but so far, it has only happened to one person.

Some thing else that probably doesn't mean any thing, but the nick of the guy who played the game was Mage, and I was a magician. Don't know if that tricked or confused the game or what... probably not, but I figured I'd mention it. I remember in Mutants, I believe if a person made a character called Satan-1 (I believe that was the nick anyway) in the dialup days, it would automatically kill satan when that character went into the same room.

That's about all I can think of that I did on the game.
