im gonna have a printing company here PDF it for me which will be online for public viewing and once we work out a deal with bulk printing i may be able to offer some copies at cheap prices.

WorldGroup Manuals?

Post by Junior1544 »

Good evening/morning to you!

I'm interested in the Manual for WG version 3.2

A friend of mine who used to run a really big (had all 256 lines and many times they were all used) board 10 years ago and gave me the software, but he didn't keep any of the paperwork involved... He had all the activation codes and stuff, just no manuals...

Thank you!

WG 3.2 Manual

Post by Junior1544 »

Thanks, I've been looking threw all the help files I can find... What I'm looking for is how to get into the system console...

I'm running WG 3.2 NT under windows xp and I can get it to load and accept telnet connections without a problem... New users, well, I don't have any users yet accept a friend who's helping me get things going...

The problem I came across what that when I went to work with the different classes of users, I can't seem to find the system console. When WG starts (I don't have it running as a service yet, still working on configuring) it just open one little window that give very little info, and the only thing I can do is close the bbs down from that.

I can also open a general setup, but no system console...

the help files make reference to it, and that's the easiest way i've seen in the help files do change the class structure to how I want it, but I can't how to open it...

Thanks...

Open regedit
go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Galacticomm\Worldgroup Server\CurrentVersion
find the line
"use console window" 0

change the 0 to a 1

the console will open next time you start the bbs

console window

Post by Junior1544 »

That's good, but from what I saw in all of the help files (it even had screen shots) was a windows version that was much easier to navigate... Do you know how to get that?

Thank you...

theres also a java console that can be viewed as an active-html page, i dont use it personally but others might be, much better than the 16bit console.
