Global chat, new user is gagged all the time?

Post by Junior1544 »

Good morning!

I'm working on getting things running, and i'm testing global chat right now, but every time a person with normal access to the bbs tries to send a global message on the bbs using '<message> it says the person is gagged...

The only way i've seen so far to get it working again, is to give the user the master key... is there a certain key to give a user to have access to use global chat?

Thanks

its a minor flaw in the newest version only, the variable othusn didnt get set so its checking for the key on a defunct user.
also why sometimes messages echo.

as a paying sysop of global control you get all the same features of global chat except the gag feature so just use that til i can resolve this.

most sysops just key the global chat option in global control and instead of having a gag feature on annoying users just remove the key
"=ky <NAME_OF_KEY> <USER_ID>"

Will do, the users seem to be enjoying it.
