i repeat this is the EDITOR beta.
i am looking for sysops with or without knowledge with the old taedit program for its obsoleted now.
what you will do is get into the game editors on a test server and work with it so we can see whats missing, typos, what needs added, etc......
the editor has been done and redone 4 times and im finally happy with its end result.
these editors can be access via the entrance menu or globally from within the game.
like WGME Tele-arena also has an authoring system embedded so i welcome even people with no prior tele-arena knowledge for the editors are so user friendly unlike its predacessor.
so PM me if interested in checking the editors out.
Tele-Arena Editor BETA
Re: Excited
well the product was finished prolly 3 times, yet every time i just didnt like the way something turned out cause what i look at is if i add somethig to it in the future i want it to be easily added.battleweb wrote:Well, I'm really looking forward to it's public release. I've been watching it's development for over a year now and it sounds like it is very close to going public. [Crosses fingers].
the first version came out in 2007, privatel on my server where one of my old wg2 gameops did all the additions, added something like 5600 rooms, and loaded it with monsters, traps,etc..
then a few players scripted it for like 2 months, this allowed me to get the initial workings of things done.
2 days before i was gonna go public i decided the editor needed to be cleaner.
then a newer version came along and when that was finished i was very happy with the editors but wanted cleaner gameplay, and decided to remove race/class editors so there would be a point in future releases.
maybe a new class or 2, etc....
so now we are on this version, which from an editor standpoint, its so smooth and user friendly unlike its predecessor that anyone can edit Tele-arena now, including new sysops who never used the original.
game play is the same although i will be doing some tweaking at a later date to make it more than just hack n slash.
thats what allowed such a huge gap in between the all the other text rpgs back then and TA, was Te-earena was the only one where all you did was kill, level kill level.
but thats later on after the initial engines are done.
right now the game is finished im just cleaning it up and removing alot of uneeded stuff i added during testing phases.
release is such a pretty word, im not at a release phase but definately at a public playing phase.Questman wrote:Of course, before release we still need to work out the licensing and other agreements, and all that....
once patch 6.0.0.8 goes live the game is playable and fully editable.
so send over what ya got lets begin that process, i wanna be live next week.
maybe mid-week.
