would/could anyone fix the mbbs cpu hog problem?
I know when it was written it was made to run alone on a pc. now it can run on xp, but takes most of the cpu cycles. I dont see the code I would have to mod for this, I guess the i/o source was another package you had to license.
Questman? could this be a project for me?
I would sign anything I needed for this.
I would like to do this.
Mbbs 6.25 uses 95% cpu cycles in win xp

so the main process just gos and gos? makes sence thou, it always has to check all channels. I looked at the old DLX source and see something like this.Questman wrote:There is no mod possible. There was no I/O source.
It's an infinite loop, essentially. It's going to pin the processor.
wierd thing is thou, DLX can run in win xp and not suck up all the cpu cycles and it is written in archaic Ms Pascal 4 from 1988.

You may want to try "Prifinity" its a wee tsr that will controll cpu usage and allow programs 1-2-3-4 cpu's. You can have it run Major on a single cpu (not use dual core or quad) It will also allow for permant Affinity and Priorty settings.frcorey wrote:would/could anyone fix the mbbs cpu hog problem?
