lets make it work, we can use the same software like argus to do the work in wgsclean.bat we just need something to process it into the WG forum data format.

I'd be all for that. That is the one thing my BBS lacks is any type of message activity. Hell, even if I'm the only one posting on my BBS at least I'd have some networked message bases. What can we do to make it happen and not just talk about it for the 100th time?dspain wrote:lets make it work, we can use the same software like argus to do the work in wgsclean.bat we just need something to process it into the WG forum data format.

i played with a small test adodn i wrote thaty opened a msg packet and wrote to database but it was quickly written and sort of worked but something wuld be needed on a larger scale, synchronet's sbbsecho could be looked ta on how it imports the packets into its datafile and the processors would be like frontdoor, argus, rex, etc... which are available now.Franchise_24 wrote:I'd be all for that. all we need is the import/export utility to run at cleanup.
yeah i think so frontdoor, rex, argus all that will do the calling and getting/sending messages, its just a matter of formatting them.Syclops wrote:Didn't the Major Gateway Internet / UUPLUS Utilities do something like you are looking to do as far as the Offline Importing/Exporting? Probably not compatible with WG of course, but maybe it would be a starting point.

years ago sysops were using frontdoor to toss their packets so i know for a fact its still possible just FD is so outdated you're gonna have to go with something like argus or irex.Franchise_24 wrote:Bump from 5 months ago. Any info?
i personally havent toyed with it but if you look at some of the synchronet setups, and how fd did it in early wg 1/2 days im sure it would very easily be able to be done.
just gonna take alot of tweaking.
