Regarding Tele-Arena Games
As of right now - November 19, 2011 - here is the official, legal status of Tele-Arena:
It is owned by me, in its entirety. I own the rights to the game, its name, its conventions, etc. That includes its original source, algorithms, data files, message files, et al.
Sean Ferrell, the original author, retains a right to royalties for sales of the game (TA1, TA2, or either that is only slightly modified and isn't essentially a new game) on platforms other than MBBS/WG. He does not get a royalty for MBBS/WG sales. This was agreed to in order to agree to the price for which I ultimately paid for Tele-Arena, Tele-Arena II, Battledroids, and the unfinished Mundane Creation (which was never delivered). Sean does NOT have the right to create TA games on other platforms.
As of right now there is no legal agreement between myself and Dan Spain to distribute any product with the name Tele-Arena, or any product containing TA source code, or message or other data in original OR RECONFIGURED form.
Therefore any purchase of a TA branded product from someone other than Elwynor Technologies is paying for illegal software.
If you have any questions e-mail me: nospam (at) elwynor (dot) com.
I am willing to negotiate a license and distribution agreement with Dan Spain, however that hasn't happened yet and I have requested we discuss that but have not received a response yet. The complication for any game product that does not run on MBBS/WG is that it must include that royalty for Sean.

Good question, kinda of like a product you buy (ebay or a flea market) only to find out later its an clone manufacted without patent royalty payments (probably form asia). Do you keep useing it as you own it, or do you stop useing it.Franchise_24 wrote:So what about people who have already purchased this game? You're saying it's illegal and needs to be taken down?
Very tough choice in your case.
I am also curious if it is ok to run it thru the demo period (or as beta) with it live for users to play. Even though some small details need to be ironed out.

Re: Ta cost
well i have several options, now it all depends on what direction me and Rick go but my layout right now is:banjaxster wrote:How about a ballpark figure as to the cost ?
Seams like I have been waiting for many years for it ......
Tele-Arena CLASSIC - a complete replica of 5.6d woth the stone passage areas
Tele-Arena REBORN - like Vircomm did with TA97 i have my own custom fork of the game completely redesigned
Tele-Arena Game Engine - just an engine sysops/developers/designers can use to create their own flavor of the game, everything is completely customizable.
Tele-Arena II - yes i want to get this from Rick and done as well, it will not use my SQLite engine, but rather i will use this engine to use the windows editor released by Sean Ferrell, i will bug fix it and remove sysop command crashes of course.
Tele-Arena III - this will be renamed, this is an engine i did years ago that was 100% stock except users could dual class.
once Rick gets with me i will lay out my engines and ideas and let the talks go from there.
Re: Ta cost
my idea for a classic vanilla game was always $99 which is 100 less than sean sold it for, but prices will be redone as we get a deal in place.banjaxster wrote:How about a ballpark figure as to the cost ?
