Anyone have any idea on the size limitations of the DAT files for Betrieve? I was just hit by a relayer who tried to use my systemf or spam, when my DAT file hit 2.5 gigs it crapped out the BBS and shut it down.
--hopefully I have fixed the access problem, but it pisses me off when you get used like that.

Well on my system, everytime I reach 2.3 GB, it craps out with insert errors.Questman wrote:There are also filesystem limitations for single files. I believe the filesystem and 32bit Btrieve limit is 4gb.

Well, the problem is now fixed..I managed to ID and exclude the smtp servers trying to spam my server. File is staying at a reasonable level now.Questman wrote:Which BTrieve version? I think after a little over 2GB the WG version doesn't handle it, but Pervasive SQL will...
What was an issue is WG trying to send me every single email that had a bad address or was undeliverable for some reason after 72 hours, that was a BIG pain in the A. It was those messages causing the .dat file to grow to big. And you can't turn it off. I ended up forwarding it to my normal mail server, which does autodelete mail.
