well, I don't have the pricate source code,
so, I mean the galgbsl.dll file.
i.e. I got a few of them from somewhere and
wish to sort the mbbs ones from the wg ones.
I thought it would be size, but the size changes
also depending on the options active in it.

the galgsbl.dll for wg2 is compiled at file size 40041
thats a wg 2.0 gagsbl.dll compiled with 256 users

for wg 3.12 galgsbl.dll compiles to a file size of 32768 for 256 users

galgsbl.dll will work between mbbs,wg1,wg2

3.12 used a different reg algorithim so its independant to 3.12 and 3.13 only

3.2 and 3.3 should work together.

due to licensing with galacticomm LLC i cannot compile new galgsbl.dll files and send them to you without their expressed permission but if you run into problems let me know ill compile each of them here on my end and give you file sizes.

I only have mbbs and wg2 dlls.
I have seen 37k to 41k sizes.
I don't need my original dlls, I have backups on all the licenses I have rights too.
Like I said, these were found over the years.
I see some dlls will not work sometimes, they will error out with a can't find or can't open error.
I think I say one load for a few secs and said it was a 256 user lan only file. then it crashed with a can't find something error.

the 256 user lan only is hexed.

the difference in sizes is between hexes and user licenses.

mbbs and wg2 galgsbl's will all work together so you're ok there.

so, why do some crash the bbs and some don't?
the most seen error is can't open a file.

cause they dont know how the hell to hex it or crack it.

i have a galgsbl.dll that inits as x.25-256 works good on wg2 but nothing else.

your best bet is to install a fresh copy of whatever dos flavor you want, input your activation code to remove the reg#22222222 and its guaranteed not to crash, using downloaded or modified galgsbl.dll who knows what some of these idiots did to it.
