better way to reset galactiwars?

i recently reset galactiwars on the bbs but the only way I could figure out how to do it was just to completely replace the old galactiwars mod with a new, fresh install of it.

when you do this, you have to re-configure everything and enter the activation codes again, etc.. is there an easier way?

To reset it, you just

copy ELWGWAR*.VIR ELWGWAR*.DAT

that's all.

But I will change it so that it can be done online.

I remeber from the old days that I always remembered that the empty data files were .vir.. virgin files. I wonder is that's why they used VIR.
