Major News Back Issues...way back!

Post by Talonp »

Hey Questman I wasn't sure were to post this so I figured this would work...I have been working on converting all the old Major News printed copies to PDF as you requested, I have the following done so far;

Volume 3, Issue 1
Volume 3, Issue 2
Volume 4, Issue 1
Volume 4, Issue 2

I hope to have these done tonight;

Volume 5, Issue 1
Volume 5, Issue 2
Visions Summer 1995 - The first and only issue that I know of.
And some misc. other Galacticomm documentation sales stuff.

and if anyone has a printed copy of Volume 2, Issue 1, Winter 1991-1992 they can mail it to me and I will scan it and mail it back to them if they want....just contact me here on the forums.

Let me know if you want me to post links here for download or ftp them somewhere :)

Great;

I have one issue somewhere still, I'll have to look and see which one it was. Now I wish I would have kept all of them. Hindsight is the greater part....

Questman will get around to d/l and posting them here, as he did when I scanned in some of the 6.2 manuals I had. He does get busy sometimes as we all do :)

As an alternate site, I can also make them available on my BBS if necessary.

Its all good...they are up on my system now and waiting for when he gets a chance to collect them :)

I got 4 of the ONEBBSCON Audio tapes converted to MP3 here they are, there is about 12 to 15 more coming over time;

Stand Out in Cyberspace (The Making of a Good BBS) - Dennis Fowler
Intro to RIP Graphics - Jim Bergman/Pat Clawson/Jeff Reeder
Tips & Tricks for the MajorBBS Sysops - Ken Nash/Fabian Cuervo
Intro to the MajorBBS - Scott Brinker

I will try to get the others done this coming week if I get time, I also have a lot of manuals to scan as well so this is going to be an ongoing project :)

But well worth the work ...Enjoy my friends!

No problem, glad I could help. I'll try to get the client side access "user guide" and the "online interactive software" quick start giude done in the next few days. They don't fit my scanner to good but I'll give it a shot.

Do you want the 2 page quickstart cards aswell, like the 'wg and win95 install, dial up, 6pack, etc. I have them for v6 thru wg 3.

On page 44 of the Multemedia extensions could use a little white out, my reg # is written down. Just the # no code so it is not a problem for me.

Ok I have a fair bit of stuff that escaped the Xwife's rampages and trashing of my stuff. Still most manuals and a fair bit of flyers tech stuff. 1 box full got burned/trashed which included most of the mbbs info and disks. The wg box escaped the rampage. I will scan all I can. Was the 600 dpi good or would you like higher/lower?

Hey, I haven't forgot about sending this stuff, I'm just lagging. Sorry.

Is anyone still looking for old Modules, I'm trying to get all my MBBS / WG Software sorted out and compared against what is available for download on ArcticZone and it looks like I've got some files from some ISV's that are not on there and additional files from existing ISV's on there.

Well I started merging some stuff last night and I was surprised to find a bunch of old ISV's that were not in the list and in excess of 100 Modules, probably closer to 200 or more, the largest group being in the Vircom and Mountain Rose ISV folders, lots of modules and previous versions of modules.
