Yeah well its all good ...high price but its one of them products that stand alone and you just dont have a choice on the price :)

Sylvian just doesnt want ot deal with the BS of selling the product anymore or the BBS world beacuse he is the only one in the company that understands how to generate keys much less find the product in the old archive system.

And I understand were he is coming from but I just think they could sell it none supported for around $500.00 and still sell a lot of copies....but such is life :) I got another copy and that works ... now when you complete your DMA client/server then I can stop paying this super high price hehehe cant wait for that one Dspain ;)

Mine is running now. I will email you the dma password and the list of modules that are on it. I will also send you an example connect script. One thing that seems to pop up every time I do this is you have to set the max concintrated commands on the main bbs to be long enough to support the command string you are passing to connect to the DMA server. Also you should limit the length of the new users ID to 27 charactors ( I think).

yeah sven can compile the old wg2 stuff too but he charges more, see right now its more of a who can get the higher price thingy, i can get it quite cheap for myself or any system i am involved in 'bringing in' like if im the one that brings a new sysop on board i can get em a cheaper price, their problem is so manby people email em basically telling em WG should be free why is such a high price its not worth it blah blah
Sylvains anwer is always the same, if WG is so dead and noone uses it anymore why do you need a majortcp code again? lol

im trying to get em on board by being a reseller, i dont touch any funds i only manage my own ISVTCP webpage with payment buttons and product info and they click and buy and they just transfer me a percentage, since it works and doesnt need fixing no development is needed just them to generate reg numbers. which isnt bad considering they abandoned the WG stuff years ago so it would basically be 100% profit for vircom inc.

Yeah you had told me that before and I never said a word about the price when they sent me the quote ... as I said all is good I got the software and codes and thats what I wanted :)

I hope you can get them to agree to the reseller idea that would make it a little easier to get copies of the software and codes. I will need three more sets of activation codes by end of next year so any price break would be great hehe but I think that they would drop the price some when I buy the others seeing its three sets :) Who knows...Like I said I got it and thats all that counts.

I've tried that several times with Sylvain. He just isn't interested in any solution right now.

yeah i got you written down for some WG2 stuff. im pretty good on the inner workings of WG2 myself, i have cleaned up thew dev kit and organized it in a directory structure and added a ton to it on top of a slew of other addons i got in the making for 2.0.

Ok dumb question on this DMA server and WG20 guys, I have a development WG20 system running fine in WindowsXP but when I try to setup a new system for the DMA server I get the error NO PKT DRIVERS, I take it that ICO will work with the virtual software PKT drivers but Vircom's MajorTCP/IP doesn't? So I guess if thats the case I will have to run it on a dos box/Win98 or in VMWare correct?

The DMA server is a part of the MajorTCP (for DOS) package. You may need to set hte packet driver address in the tcplibm msg file. If you are still having trouble run the DMA server on any old pice of crap DOS computer. You will have less trouble. LOL

yeah i would run it under a win98 forced to dos by setting set gui to 0.

i load the link support layer, the odi driver, worldgroups odipkt.com and then my packey driver on interrupt 0x70 and my wg2 bbs if flawless, and extremely quick, (pending you dont run majormud :) )

MajorMud was a big reason for the DMA server. LOL

actually vircomm's staff were Tele-Arena fans not majormud fans, Lance started MajorMUD because he didnt like Sean's ideas to the game, it was a plain hack and slash and he wanted more features, whereas Vircom rather than migrate to MajorMUD their development staff pooled the money to purchase the Tele-Arena SDK and made their own game beginning in august of 1996 and needed a server to be able to authenticate logins so they could charge bbs's a monthly amount to allow dma connections and the bbs's in turned charged monthly subscriptions, The Dump, and several other bbs's provided a huge traffic flow to game-master bbs just using DMA so Tele-Arena 97 could be accessible by bbs's from all around.
