Windows 2003 Sucks: Where I've Been

Post by Questman »

Just to let you all have an update...

I actually have a good number of games and addons I need to release. The old original Tele-Arena I on the old engine, the new Tele-Arena project w/ Dan Spain, and a handful of other modules that haven't been released yet.

I need to finalize the arrangement with Dan too.

Unfortunately my Windows Server 2003 box refuses to boot. I was able to install a new boot drive and get it running but I don't trust it -- it's 6 years old now and the RAID has failed once before (the RAID, w/ all the software on it, is fine right now). I'm going to replace it all but have to wait a few weeks until the bonus comes.

Patience is appreciated :)

i know this sounds generic but what i did when that happened on an old winxp system i had was put a new master drive in, installed windows and everythign else, ran my old drive as a slave and copied what i needed yeah its a bit generic but it does work, i had a habit of buying refurbished harddrives from geeks dot com and while some prices were awesome like 500gb drives for 25 bux you get what you pay for, great drives that last less than a year.

now i have a habit of backing up my entire development tree into a makeshift cvs server on my ftp server because ive lost too much.

Looking forward to them, hopefully you'll get them completed by the spring or early summer. :D
Send them over when your ready to start testing again. I have several users asking when Tele Arena, TW2 and others I have tested recently will be completed.

The RAID corrupted itself. I don't really understand how that can happen, but apparently it did. I need to go through a RAID containing everything I've ever saved over years and years file by file to see what is lost...

This is going to take a while.
