began testing phases on v2.0 of my tele-arena engine, reports from 1.0 were better than expected with only a handful of small issues reported, but the best news was not one crash was ever reported, so it was very stable.
in 2.0 i wanted to focus more on sysop customization, so i removed alot of hardcoded elements, now sysops can add races and classes to the database, with requests for custom titles coming 2-3 times a week i decided to put all titles in a database so sysops can now add those too.
Also added runes gto a database so sysops can add runes or change the colors of the existing runes.
Added some extra things as well but these things can be turned off by sysops wantign to keep their game in legacy mode.
things added to my core were:
(these options can be turned on/off)
Item Vaults - allow users to store up to 10 items in their bank vault
Passive Racial Skills - can give each race a specific specialty ability like TA97 had such as night sight, faster regen, etc.....
Class Skills - aside from the basic skills that came in the default game you can enable new specialty skills to classes such as Gate, Bind, Teleport, Bless, etc....
New PVP Rules - for sysops wanting to really open up their pvp game you change from the classic rules to the new rune based pvp system where you can hit anyone -1 equal or +1 rune from you, with no rune eliminating any pvp.
New Battleground System - added a new pvp battleground system where you have 10 maps and when you do a random battleground and at the end the last m,an standing gets a reward, but so do everyone who participated too.
Credit Shops - ability for a sysop to add special items that can be purchased only with credits.
[end]
i am always taking new ideas on things you feel should be in the game, and keep in mind all of the new stuff can be turned off if you just want to run a classic game.
version 1.0 is online now but will be replaced by 2.0 in the coming weeks and once 2.0 is out i got 4 designers ready to step in and try and replicate the hit ta97 the best they can and while that is going on i will be working on 4.0 (leaving 2.x and 3.x for earlier patching) and 4.0 will add active-html support so you can play the game with your web browser.
the arctic testmud active-html engines ran initial tests ok but i was not happy enough to include it in the 2.0 Ta engine release i wanted to wait until i got farther down the development line before introducing something like this.
as for sales, that is still up in the air, you can personally contact Rick if you want to purchase a copy or run a demo but i don't have the time right now to try and convince him anymore if enough of you spoke with him he may change his position and agree to some form of deal but until then im just gonna continue to finalize the product so i can jump to my active-html version.
if interested in joining the designing team send me a PM i am always accepting fresh eyes, and once Tele-Arena REBORN is completed we could go a step further to design a new game or take it a step further and create a small mmo in honor of TA.
