For Sale: DigiBoard 8 Port isa card

Hey guys, a friend of mine just came across what appears to be an almost brand new DigiBoard 9 port 10 base-T to db25 serial card, all the books and disks, and 4 of the serial to ethernet adapters that go with it.

here's a pic of the stuff...

Petscii is just commodore's version of the ascii table... they used a small subset of the ascii set, then replaced the rest of the chars with graphical characters allowing for some pretty sweet text based graphics...

there is a sweet program called dirmaster 2.1 for the pc, that allows you to view ...

So I guess I am right back to needing someone to make a quick mod for me... just don't build up my hopes like Corey there, then yank the Carpet out from under me in the very next post. :)

You guys aren't listening...

I do not care about the system text messages. Who cares if they are longer than 40 chars, they will just wrap to the next line. There is no issue with the system messages.

The problem is when I try to display a Petscii graphic. Commodore Ruled the bbs scene because of ...

what good would changing the base language to ascii text be? does it only count the ascii chars in the screen width then? because other than that, I don't think it will be of much help.

I have created a new language for the Commodore Petscii. The problem is, like I stated above, they use ctrl ...

I find it troubling that for a bbs and system we are supposedly trying to keep alive, I can not get such a simple mod done. Do I have to offer to pay for it?

How much would it cost to get this very small mod done?

Need Small Mod for 6.25

Hey Guys,

I have posted in another forum here about my intention to put up a Commodore / Amiga BBS running on MBBS for dos. I have made some decent progress with it, but have run in to a stumbling block incorporating the Commodore Petscii charset in to my menus.

The Commodore had a strict 40 ...

I use SecureCRT to do most telnet stuff, if I am not logging in from a shell / terminal on a unix box or in xwindows.

To test my commodore stuff from the same computer, I use a little progam called cg-term, which emulates the petscii char set, but this probably has no relevance to what you are ...

Opensource...

I think you should take a good look at the other open source projects out there and how they make money... VMWare being 1 of the biggest. The distribute the software for free, and then charge by the hour for support, and do support contracts.

MajorBBS is complicated enough that support contracts is ...

Petscii on Major

Well guys,

I finally got around to building my Virtualized Server, and have it up and running next to me running the Latest Ubuntu 10.4 desktop, vmware 7.x something, on a dual 3gig xeon, with 4 gigs of ram.

It runs pretty smooth, and the very first thing I did was bring up my old copy of Major ...

BBS Magazine and BoardWatch

Hey Guys,

Recently I have been searching for information on a variety of topics, mainly related to the Commodore 64 /128, Amiga and Bullitin Board Magazines. I have amassed a pretty nice collection of Commodore and Amiga mags, though I am only about 80% done with the project.

My Library currently ...

Hey man, don't now if you thought of this already, but instead of spanning a multi-dvd set requiring a user attended backup, you could pick up a bluray burner for 200 bux and back it up to a 25gig disc.

Major BBS in VMWare

Well, the reason I ask how well it works... Currently I have 5 servers running in my DC Data Center. Each one has 2 quad core cpus and 32 gigs of ram. For what I am using them, 10 servers seems to be the ideal number to run on each one. Each server is run in a VMWare environment, with a base linux ...

Fido Feed..

Actually, I am pretty sure we ran Major Fido. It was pretty easy to set up, though I had my local fido Hub come help with the setup.

Evidently, when I came to town here, I was the first one who ever tried to upload to the local bbs's. They didn't know what to think of me, and decided to come check ...

Very cool.. I imagine a language prompt would be 1 of the first questions asked upon connecting. It would be nice if would could auto detect or prompt for it prior to the logon screen being displayed.

Commodore Petscii & Amiga Ansi in MajorBBS

Hey Guys,

Back in the 90s I ran a couple Major BBS Dos systems, One 18 and one 20 node system. Both were internet gateways with fido access, and I eventually moved on to running Unix based ISPs and moving away from MajorBBS to hardware solutions like Livingston Portmasters and Ascend Max's for ...

Livingston (Now Lucent) Portmaster 2es

I use to run a few ISPs and used the Livingston portmasters to run 30 modems per units for dialup. Eventually I moved over to the Lucent Ascend Max 6096 96 port access servers. They run 96 digital 56k dialups over 4 t1s or b/pris. The t1 or pri can be channelized to run 24 56k lines per t1 or 23 64k ...

Hey Guys,

I am new to the forum, but a long time fan of MBBS. Back in the early to mid 90s I ran 2 different 18 and 20 node boards / Internet gateways with the dos versions of MajorBBS.

While peruzing the archives here and on some of the related forums listed in various messages, I came across ...
