Hey guys, a friend of mine just came across what appears to be an almost brand new DigiBoard 9 port 10 base-T to db25 serial card, all the books and disks, and 4 of the serial to ethernet adapters that go with it.
here's a pic of the stuff...

You guys aren't listening...
I do not care about the system text messages. Who cares if they are longer than 40 chars, they will just wrap to the next line. There is no issue with the system messages.
The problem is when I try to display a Petscii graphic. Commodore Ruled the bbs scene because of ...

Opensource...
I think you should take a good look at the other open source projects out there and how they make money... VMWare being 1 of the biggest. The distribute the software for free, and then charge by the hour for support, and do support contracts.

Well guys,
I finally got around to building my Virtualized Server, and have it up and running next to me running the Latest Ubuntu 10.4 desktop, vmware 7.x something, on a dual 3gig xeon, with 4 gigs of ram.

Hey Guys,
Recently I have been searching for information on a variety of topics, mainly related to the Commodore 64 /128, Amiga and Bullitin Board Magazines. I have amassed a pretty nice collection of Commodore and Amiga mags, though I am only about 80% done with the project.

BluRay Backup Solution...
Hey man, don't now if you thought of this already, but instead of spanning a multi-dvd set requiring a user attended backup, you could pick up a bluray burner for 200 bux and back it up to a 25gig disc.

Major BBS in VMWare
Well, the reason I ask how well it works... Currently I have 5 servers running in my DC Data Center. Each one has 2 quad core cpus and 32 gigs of ram. For what I am using them, 10 servers seems to be the ideal number to run on each one. Each server is run in a VMWare environment, with a base linux ...

Fido Feed..
Actually, I am pretty sure we ran Major Fido. It was pretty easy to set up, though I had my local fido Hub come help with the setup.
Evidently, when I came to town here, I was the first one who ever tried to upload to the local bbs's. They didn't know what to think of me, and decided to come check ...

Very cool.. I imagine a language prompt would be 1 of the first questions asked upon connecting. It would be nice if would could auto detect or prompt for it prior to the logon screen being displayed.

Hey Guys,
Back in the 90s I ran a couple Major BBS Dos systems, One 18 and one 20 node system. Both were internet gateways with fido access, and I eventually moved on to running Unix based ISPs and moving away from MajorBBS to hardware solutions like Livingston Portmasters and Ascend Max's for ...

Livingston (Now Lucent) Portmaster 2es
I use to run a few ISPs and used the Livingston portmasters to run 30 modems per units for dialup. Eventually I moved over to the Lucent Ascend Max 6096 96 port access servers. They run 96 digital 56k dialups over 4 t1s or b/pris. The t1 or pri can be channelized to run 24 56k lines per t1 or 23 64k ...
