you'd think they wouldnt care, if i were them i would be happy my 15+ yr software was still wanting in the market.
if HVS made even $5 in royalties per copy its still more than they would make with it in the closet.
Yes you'd think so, but the bank or whoever foreclosed on HVS would be the one getting the $$, or would it be G. Martin, J. Pritchard, HVS and Datasafe all get $5.
the original owners still get a cut.
besides the above applies to banks too.
few years ago i put together an investment firm for PCBoard bbs software we had talks with the banks everythign was a go, 4 of em provided the money and 3 of us were gonna design/develop, was damn near 100% so the bank at the last minute revises the contract, they wanted more up front money, they were already getting 20k up front and a contract to provide 30% per copy for the first year then 15% every copy after til they were paid in full.
a hell of a deal for all of us, it had so much dust on it bank was happy just to be satifying this old debt.
at the end they wanted everythign raised, everyone pulled out and where is it today..........same place, sitting idle nothing happening.
if these peopel would realize anything is more than nothing.
too many people are still stuck i nthe 80's and 90's when bbs development put food on the table, today its just hobby money to fill a paypal account for ebay sales.
look at metropolis, pulled out of selling majormud at last minute, now this greatermud is gonna take every one of their customersm they pretty much commited professinal suicide with that one.
