If you're using Vircom MajorTCP, there is a command line option that will do this (at least there is for rlogin connections. Not sure about telnet). I think it is something like adding #CoolMuD after the connection info, or something like that. Check the Vircom docs to make sure.

Nope that command didnt work - and it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack maybe Ill just rename the .mdf files.

You could use the rlogin client instead for login. then it would say Rlogin rather than telnet
Or try the rlogin module update from arcticzone (wg 3.xx NT only) that has a name switch to set the name when users view who's on. Its in the ISVARC file area on my bbs if you want to dl it.

He's using WG 2.0. I think Dan's modified rlogin mod is for WG 3.2. But I agree, rlogin is probably a better choice. And he can do everything he wants to do using it with the command line parameters that are already buiilt into Vircom.
